Gregynog!

Just got back from an awesome two days at Gregynog. Bit of a really sore throat but other than that was good laugh. While there we were put into teams and we had a load of tasks to do for points. We learnt different ways of starting fires :), treasure hunts, dragons den and a load of random games. Few of the random games focused on things like team work and communication, one seemed focused on getting people wet :P. There is still half of Comp Sci still there so we won't find out who the winner is for a bit. Few of the fun games were Sheep and Shepard, carrot launch and giant Jenga (even though it was in the pub and worth no pints). Sheep and Shepard was fun, all but one team member were blindfolded, there were 8 in our team. We had 15 minutes preparation time and the Shepard had to guide the Sheep into the pen with out speaking works. We used car noises for forward and stop and moo and baaaa for right and left, it did get us laughing a bit. Carrot launch was one of our first tasks on the first day there. The aim was using a cannon, just pvc tubing and a Hoover to create a vacuum, launch a shaped carrot as far as possible. The Jenga in the bar was a right laugh as some of the people playing were making it harder for the next person. There may have been a little bit of cheating going on :P. Over all it was a damn good two days and would happily do it again, right laugh and met some really nice people.

Past couple of days have been tiring and im off to Gregynog tomorrow morning and can't sleep. :(

Test

Today was fun, I had an exam on Java and UML. I got a text part way through and my phone wasn't on silent, I always seem to forget to do that. So switched it to silent five minutes later I heard a buzzing, I was being rung by an unknown number. After the 50 minute exam which I feel I did very badly on I listened to my voice mail, It was the people who I had won the £100 off ringing to sort details out. The message though said they will try and contact me 3 more times and if I don't answer I forfeit the money. WTF! Why can't they give me a number to call when im NOT IN AN EXAM. So if im in a lecture/busy when the ring next im just going to pick it up, say im in a lecture call me back at a better time. They know im a student as only students can only enter the copmpetition so they know I would be busy. Also got my Comp Sci hoody today, Yay! It's red with; Comp Sci on the back in cool pixel-ey writing and Marriott on the front. It's soooo coool :) So yeah today hasn't been that bad and got JugSoc(Juggling Social) later followed by Archery and Archery social. 

Awesome day :)

Well my hair is now dyed green/turquoise ish, you decide from pictures. The day started off well and its getting better, just won £100 by texting a simple code, now all I need to do is wait for my money :). Got tutorial later and I need to go as missed last weeks :/ them end the day with maths, how fun. Shall be out later to RocSoc (Rock Social) so that should be good, can't wait to see what other people think of my hair :).

Technology!

Discussion with friend prompted this post. What OS do you use? Windows, Linux, Mac? They each have their own philosophy, marketing methods and own ways on doing things. I wish people had the courage/opportunity/time to try them all out and form their own opinion on them rather than listening to the media and what the shops give them pre-loaded. I would like people to be able to give legitimate reasons for not wanting a certain OS', like 'I like windows cause I can play all my games' or 'I like Linux cause I can easily configure everything' etc. Every OS' has its advantage as it has its disadvantages. Technology should be like a blob of goo that you can shape and colour to your needs or have pre shaped to your needs.

Fun Day

Today I went to my lectures in my cream suit, shirt and trousers while drinking out of a coconut. It was hilarious, some of the reactions were brilliant. There should be a picture appearing on here soon, just you wait and see how awesome I look :P.

Fail!

I just been poker had two re buys and I failed miserably. This week was not my week mostly cause im missing my good luck charm. Note to self must stop spending money!
