Where would you go back to?
So your mid to late 20s like me, or maybe older, lived a busy life made a few mistakes as we all have, where would you go back to if you could. I think about this alot and often, going oh this would be a great place, oh I could fix this, I could fix that. I could if I went back there I could also prevent a lot of terrible events. Is that a good thing?
Now you might be thinking, stopping a horrible catastrophe, yeah thats a good thing and yeah stopping it would be but it would also change what we have achieved because of it. I will try and make this post as time travel friendly as possible. The World Wars were horrendus events that should not have happened but to go back and stop it, although saving millions of lives would also slow down technological advancements. Now you might be thinking screw technology I can save millions of lives, but thats what war kinda does. It forces people to adapt and create new and better ways of living/staying alive (also killing which is bad).
Now I am going slightly off topic here I am not on about a massive event I am on about your life, wow burn, but seriously it has a greater effect than you might think. Most people have heard about the butterfly effect right, well the breif version is you do something and it sends ripples out effecting bigger things, butterfly flaps its wings and causes a tornado. Well everyones life is like the butterflies wings, each interaction effects things down the line. So who is to say what you did do something that down the line will help save people. Now this doesnt mean you can do bad things and go ohhh its all part of the bigger picture, still be nice people just know mistakes are not the end.
You are you, seems pretty obvious right? you make a mistake, you want the easy way out and travel back and make sure it never happened, I have wanted that before and still do for somethings or just to relive past experiences. Stop! dont do it, if you ever get the chance, dont change your past, you make a mistake you do your best to correct it or just help ease it. You might have to apologise or even lose a friend but changing it will not only screw the timeline(insert timetravel shenanigans here) but also change who you are because of it.
Best example I have is from when I was at primary school, I was a violent person and always took playfights a bit too seriously. I got into a few out of hand fights and tried to get a few people in trouble and I almost got expelled. Luckily I got two stickers and thus did not get expelled, makes sense I know, but as much as that could have ruined my life and I could have gone into a life of crime and hard drugs but I didnt I learnt(Maybe slightly exaggerated for this context).
Now I know it isn't as straight forward as that for everyone but people need to learn to make their own mistakes but doesnt mean you cant have a bit of guidence. So listen to your family and friends they might know something you dont just like you might know something they dont, so help each other out and fail together. If a genie does ask where do you want to go back to just say now as you are amazing just the way you are.

Why I hate myself
I dont exactly hate myself, well not all the time it is usually down to how I am feeling at the time. We have all had those moments where we dont feel 100% or like we dont matter despite the fact we really do all matter. The reason I am writing this is for my own benifit, I find it hard to explain how I feel when speaking that is if I can actually get round to telling people how I feel. This is mostly because I feel I am bothering them even though I know I would do the same for them and not care. When I type I dont feel like I am speaking to anyone I just feel like I am making notes and therefore feel more free to describe how I feel.
I have moments where I over think everything I like to think we all do and that its something that everyone has to deal with. I feel down or unhappy despite trying not to show it, I keep on pretending to be happy or like I am ok with whats going on. I am a hypocrite sometimes as I tell people to let others know how they feel and do what makes them happy, the advice I give are the ones I should follow. I write this not knowing if I will even publish it and what the reaction will be if it is read.
I try to keep an open mind and be open to everything but sometimes I feel I would benifit more if I was more selfish. This sounds like I am saying I am an amazing person that of which I know I am not, but neither am I a terrible person or at least I would like to think not. I have hurt people before and I dont like that thought, we have all hurt someone whether we know it or not we all for the most part try and be better people.
That is why I hate myself, some of the time, I feel I dont/cant do enough and its my fault that I should be better, stronger, dealt with the situation differently but I didnt. I did what I did I cant change that and all I can do is move on and try and be a better person. I want to make people happy no matter the cost the problem being I dont always think about what makes me happy, I know people I would be happy with but they would not be happy with me thats not their fault or something I should feel sad about I should be happy I get the chance to know them and be friends with them.
In conclusion it is hard, it is tough but keep at it and talk to people. I will keep pestering people and trying to appear happy cause I dont want to bother people, but there are that few who I will tell how I feel and whether they make suggestions or are just there for me both of which help. If you think someone may feel like this dont treat them differently, dont try and tell them what to do just be there and in time people will talk and explain things.
Everything will be ok and to quote Queen
'It's not easy love, but you've got friends you can trust,
Friends will be friends,
When you're in need of love they give you care and attention,
Friends will be friends,
When you're through with life and all hope is lost,
Hold out your hand cos friends will be friends right till the end '

Been a while since I updated this on here so lets go for it. A fair bit to cover so stick with me.
First off, I won the beer pong tournement, WOO!. As such I got the beer pong belt. Got another tournement coming up soon so hopefully I can retain the belt but only time will tell.
Work is going well getting into the swing of thing, getting more work and enjoying it. Still not enjoying the long days but hey ho. YouTube videos are slowly getting better(in my opinion) but it is taking longer to do and not giving me much free time.
I need to practice keyboard more though as at the moment I am not doing it every day like I told myself I would. Everytime I come back to it it does feel easier so I must be getting better. As well as keyboard I have a CAR! a ford focus edge to be more precise. I have gone out for a drive in it and it felt very strange not having driven in a while. I need to keep driving around to get used to the car but should be driving like a pro soon.
Thats pretty much everything in a nutshell. Go have a laugh at me getting scared.

What have I been up to and buying?
Hello all it has been a while hasn't it this is what money and work does to me. In the day time I work and at night I shop / do stuff other than blog. Well here it goes the big catch up.
First a few off topic things I have done since being back. Well I said I do shopping online well I also do it in the real world and a couple of weeks back I got served by someone called Goose. I had to ask and no it has nothing to do with Top Gun, which she mentioned she had never seen before. I recommend it if you haven't seen it before it is quite good, bit cheesy but I like that every now and again. She said it is just what she had been called for most of her life.
I also have been catching up with friends playing some beer pong and trying out their reasonably sized swimming pool. Only the inflatable kind. Even though it was a hot day the pool was still mighty chilly and unfourtunatelly I did not win beer pong tourneyment. However there is a chance once a month to win the belt so thats something I need to work towards this month.
I am also travelling to work on the train and rediscovering how much of a pain it is. I have resorted to sleeping most of the way then doing a rather speedy walk to get to work just on time. I have also been catching up with my grandma, having a chat about houses and such. Need to pop down at some point when grandad is in.
Now with the shopping, mostly online, I have been getting a plethora of things. I have got some electronics such as arduino pro mini and some motors as I am looking at making my own quadcopter. I have an idea how it is meant to go but how it ends up is a different matter. I have also got some polymer clay for making some models (See below for the horrors I have created so far). I need to practice a bit more.
Along with all these things I have also gotten myself a keyboard in the attempts to learn it. So far I have been learning reading notes, scales and a bit of left and right hand co ordination. This is where I always struggled, trying to get left and right hand working well together. I will hopefully when I get better start to upload videos to YouTube of my practices as I am really hoping to get good or at least bearable.

Perils of Programming
So if you are reading this you are already a programmer or looking at getting in to programming. Either way this should be a good and helpful read for you. As a working man who programs pretty much every day it is no supprise I make mistakes, quite a few tbh, but they aren't big mistakes that can be overly complex.
They are usually the mundane missing a semi colon or most recently an incorrect spacing. These can drive you mad searching tirelessly for the most simple errors and as such I have learnt a fair few ways of trying to reduce the number of these errors and just improve all round code. You may have heard of a few of these and there may be more but these are my top 5.
Number 1: It seems fairly obvious but some people don't like letting other people look at their work. However, if you ever want a simple bug being found quick and easily, give it to someone who doesn't know what your program does. They will be looking at it with fresh eyes and won't think about, "Oh this could be improved by this", they will be less distracted by the program and more likely to spot the simple errors. So suck up what ever pride you think you have and ask for someone to give your code a quick read through.
Number 2: If no one is around or you are too stubborn to ask for help then fair enough, read it yourself. Just take your time and read it as though it was being ran, don't go off to look at other methods to try and see what they are doing. This is where the debugger comes in really handy, it allows you to run the program step by step seeing what variables are what. You never know you might come across a missing semi colon or a mis typed variable that stops everything from working. It happens I know.
Number 3: Comment your code, dear god comment it. This can not be said enough, comments are so usefull and I am not on about just the one line saying does stuff. If you comment often and clearly not only other people will know what you have written should do but so will you when you come back to it. The number of times I didn't comment something because I knew what it was at the time then came back to it and was like, erm what is quite a lot. It is a vital part to programming, yes the computer might know what the code does but when you come back to improve or use your code you will have no idea and that can make chages really hard to implement.
Number 4: Test. Now this can be manual tests, automated tests or other tests but testing works out the kinks. As well as that it helps you write better code and reduce pointless code. With a good few tests you can see where and why your code is failing and what you can possibly do to remedy it. It can get boring but if you do it as you go along you won't have a LOAD of tests at the end to write. As well it also helps see if any new code you have put in breaks existing code.(see regression tests).
Number 5: Write code, any code and lots of it. Practice makes perfect...but nobody is perfect so why practice..... because you can come damn close to being perfect. The better and quicker you can write code the more money you are likely to earn. So crack those fingers, sit down and give yourself a simple coding challenge. It is a great way to try and learn a new language or just boost knowledge in an existing one, it doesn't have to be anything huge, try conways game of like or noughts and crasses. You can write something that solves a problem you are working on or something that makes your life a little easier. The more you write the better and less buggy your code will be, there will always be those bugs that creep in though, it happens to us all.

It is a great way to try and learn a new language or just boost knowledge in an existing one, it doesn't have to be anything huge, try conways game of like or noughts and crasses. You can write something that solves a problem you are working on or something that makes your life a little easier. The more you write the better and less buggy your code will be, there will always be those bugs that creep in though, it happens to us all.

So the past couple of weeks has been super busy so here goes it.
The first big thing that happened was me and a good friend went to seafood festival in Aberaeron. I got to try a load of lovly seafood and sing, singing in the rain, in the rain. As well as this I got to try oysters for the first time with chilli sauce. They taste nice but I could not quite decide if I liked the texture or not, so I had another. Overall I think I like them, after got some delicious mint cake.
On the job front I have a job in Leicester as a Web developer. It is going well and getting on ok, only done first day though. Will have to wait and see how it goes in the long term.
Also I officially graduated in a lovely and warm gown then got my expensive bit of paper(Degree). Already missing Aberystwyth, considering trying to become a lecturer there but we will see on that front. See picture below.

Indie games - Knytt

So I have graduated, well I have my results graduation is on the 14th July. I will be graduation with a 2:1 hons BSc in Computer Science from Aberystwyth university and a 1st for my dissertation. I have had a fantastic time there and met some amazing people who I will remain friends with for a long time. It will definitely not be the last time I am in Aber though as I want to keep visiting there as it is a wonderful place.
In other news the supreme court of America has announced that gay marriage is legal in all 50 states. This has created a bit of an up roar with those who are against it(I am for gay marriage) who have been saying they will move to Canada. Little do they know Canada has had gay marriage legal for a long while now so they will be in for a shock.
People on Facebook who are happy about the news have taken to rainbowifying their Facebook profile pictures. The rainbow being the LGBT log. So there are a lot of colourful faces on Facebook at the moment.
Videos on YouTube are a bit slow as well at the moment as I am currently at home, but there will be a new video going up soon so keep checking my channel out. (Link below). I am at home as more job interviews, yay! hopefully will have a job and start earning some money to pay everyone back.

Another week gone and stuff to talk about so lets get straight to it.
First lets get the important stuff out the way, Jurassic World. Yes it was good, a lot better than I was expecting it to be however the ending did let it down just a bit. I love the throw back to the classic films and couldn't help smile when the Chris Pratt meme scene came on. If you are not aware of this then you must live under a rock, check image below to see what I am on about.
I'm trying to keep up to date with videos but this coming week I am doing a lot of traveling so they won't be kept up to date as much. They will be back to the daily schedule soon. I will also have to start looking into getting some more storage space as my hard drives are filling up quite quickly.
Interesting bit of information here, turns out Windows 10 will not be free.

Lets play 7 days to die ( alpha ): #1 Starting off in a zombie wasteland
This episode we find shelter as well as getting some valuable resources on the way as well as meeting cousin Dave and getting a nail gun.
Mostly we spend it setting up a home, picking essential supplies such as cotton, stone and sticks. These help make handy tools that we need to take on the zombie apocalypse that will inevitably come on the 7th day. So having a decent axe, weapons like crossbows and shotguns will mean we survive a lot longer.

Results....SOON!
So the time is almost upon us Aber people. Those who are graduating will be getting results this Thursday, that includes me. Can not lie I am a little nervous but I think it should be ok, can not see why I would not get a 2:1. Really hope I don't get a 2:2 as I said I would go graduation in a tutu otherwise but chances of that are really unlikely (touch wood).
My time at uni really is coming to an end as the first flat mate has moved out and the other one to be gone by the end of the week. I hopefully will not be too far behind as I hope to get a job sorted as soon as possible. Speaking of I have a few phone interviews and a couple face to face meetings to get through so hopefully some of them will prove fruitful.
As well as looking for work and preparing to move I have also been playing some 7 days to die with flat mate which you should be able to see on my channel soon (link below). I have also watch an excellent new Netflix season called sense8, really good and recommend checking it out. As well as checking out Daredevil tv series if you have not already checked that out and Dark matter. Dark matter is a little Firefly esk but so far not that level of awesome, it has the potential.
Finally yesterday was fathers day so I hope you all (who can) wished your father a happy day if not there is still time, a few days late won't matter :).

So it has been an interesting week. There were bats(well just the one), driving, coffee, job talks and many youtube videos and adjustments.
So first off the bat? Well the other day it was nice so me and a friend went on a walk up Pen Dinas a hill near where I live. After watching a never ending heard of cows we decided to head back home as my hayfever was playing up. On the way down I spotted a bat on the path crawling along. Upon closer inspection the bat appeared to be injured as such my friend decided to contain the bat(carefully) in her hoodie. After calling flatmate to drive up with a container we managed to get the bat back to our house where we proceded to call bat conservation society and RSPCA. They said to put it in a shoe box with a tea towel(to snuggle into) a milk lid with a wet kitchen roll for drink and bit of cat food for sustanance.
When we finally go through to someone who could help they said that no one could pick him up the next day. As such we kept the bat over night, unfourtunatelly no one came to pick him up but there was someone only an hour away. So me and my friend drove to Carno a small village in west Wales to a lovely b&b where we met a lovely woman who was a drop of location for bats. After speaking with her and being shown the lovely b&b we found out the the bat was not a he but a she and had a damaged wing. She said she would take care and get her to someone who looks after bats and let us know what happens. There is a picture below of the bat
That was the most hectic it has got this past week. On the other end I have tried some delicious orange liquor coffee that a friend brought and was very nice. Tasted exactly like the chocolates but hot and coffee like.
My job hunting is going alright I a few phone interviews and a face to face as well. I have a few emails which I need to send out soon, got to keep on top of these things I want a job you know.

Well it is update time and the past week or so has been busy but not all around great. Not terrible just few things going wrong most of which have been remedied. Also A few little rants a bout things mostly job applications and the passing of an acting legend Sir Christopher Lee.
So job applications, it is that time of year when graduates who do not have a job spam out applications left right and center in hopes to get a job. I am no exception, however, some of the jobs that I have applied for have been asking for a minimum of 260, 280, 300 ucas points.
Now this would be fine if my ucas points were that high but due to a not so good sixth form I went to university as a mature student. Here I have more than proven my determination at working and that I can get good grades, likely to get a high 2:1 and that I can combine that with an active social life. While at university I have undertaken archery, fencing, football, dancing( both latin and ballroom) and competed in them.
So because of this I just wish jobs would judge you on you latest qualification and achievements, because after all that is who I am/have been for the past 4+ years.
It has not all been applying for jobs I have also been trying to get Ad Sense working on my blog and having issues with ads being shown but not displayed in the layout manager. Turns out if you have an add blocker it hides the ads even in the layout manager, so after disabling it I could then remove most of the ads that were spamming my blog page.
I have been trying to seek out work in other areas such as free lancing on sites such as Elance. This site seems pretty good so far giving you choice of pay limitations and what work you take on. However I came across an issue when trying to add my address, no matter what address I entered I always got the error;
'Please enter a valid location.'
This was slightly irritating so I tweeted Elance and they responded quickly asking for user name and screen shot of the issue. I am still waiting to hear from them about a fix but until then I can work without an address.
Now to the sad news, I woke up today to hear the passing of Sir Christopher Lee at the age of 93.He was well known for his iconic acting roles as Dracula, Saruman, count Dooku the list goes on. He was in the Wicker Man, the man with the golden gun and countless other, he has had an amazing acting career. I have not seen everything he has been in and I doubt many people reading this will have too or just not realised it. I think that I am going to have to have a Christopher Lee marathon of films at some point soon.
He passed away at 8:30am on Sunday 7th June 2015 due to heart and respiratory problems. He is now out there with some of the great actors and my sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

Android fun
So the past couple of weeks I have been trying to keep busy with job applications and my own projects. I have started work on creating an android game so stay tuned to see how that progress. As well as this I am also working on improving my C code and learning C#. I have had a job interview yesterday that I feel went well and got a few other people I am waiting to hear from. If any one is looking for a developer or support technician then I am the computer scientist for you :P
With the android development I had a bit of trouble getting my Z1 compact registering on my computer using android studio. This was so I could develop and run the application on my phone. This was fixed by clicking tools menu, android and enable ADB integration. At the moment just going through an on line tutorial. The tutorial I am using is this.
I have also started live streaming on twitch mostly Minecraft and Team Fortress 2, check my twitter here for when I will be live streaming. Also check out when a new video goes up on YouTube.
As well I have finally wired up my 4x4x4 LED cube to a breadboard and a ATMega328p. Which although the wiring is not fantastic it is working :).
Graduation is soon so I am going to have to make sure I am ready for that.
With the android development I had a bit of trouble getting my Z1 compact registering on my computer using android studio. This was so I could develop and run the application on my phone. This was fixed by clicking tools menu, android and enable ADB integration. At the moment just going through an on line tutorial. The tutorial I am using is this.

Done Done
Well 4 years later and I am finally finsihed with university. I have had a wonderful time at Aberystwtyth and I hope to not be away from it for too long. I am still waiting on results but hopefully I will get at least a 2:1(a 1st if I am lucky).
So what am I up to now, well, first priority is to get a job. I have spoken to a few people and got a few interviews lined up, so we shall see how they go. To try and keep on top of things I am working on a few projects, both hardware and software. As well as that I have a charity raft race this coming Sunday at Glengower in Aberystwyth so that should be good. Got a few friends coming up to take part as well.
Other things that are going on is my YouTube channel is back to being updated and you can have a look at what I have going on here feel free to like my videos or if you feel up to it even subscribe.
I should hopefully get back to updating my blog a bit more as well and might even start doing some Vlogs on YouTube so look out for them.
